PCB Assembly

In a world where time-to-market pressures continue to increase, time saved in the supply chain is important and often critical to success. Typically prototypes are required in days not weeks and often hours not days. This puts pressure on everyone involved from the electronics engineer to the assembly inspector and it’s not always a smooth process.

Dayford is able to manage the whole process better than most by good communication, quality data/information, a ‘horses for courses’ supplier base and tight control. A single purchase order for design, manufacture and assembly allows for advanced planning and saves customer resource.

You may recognise these comments from your assemblers:-

“The Excel Bill of materials you sent me doesn’t match the CAD data, which do I use?”

“The connector screws, nuts and washers are not on the BOM”

“You have sent us strips of Resistors and Capacitors in bags which our machines can’t handle, can we use our own stocked reels?

“Please check this part number, it’s not recognised by any of our suppliers”

“Item n is now 12 weeks delivery, is there an alternative we could buy?”

“Item n now has a large MOQ, please advise”

“The PCB’s you have supplied are hot air levelled and not suitable for the fine pitch devices on this board. We could use them but may get solder bridging, please advise”

“The stepped data supplied doesn’t quite match the PCB panel, please advise”

There are many more issues like these that assemblers encounter on a regular basis which cause delay and incur cost.
