PCB Design
With over 200 man-years design experience between them the Dayford design team covers all today's disciplines and technologies.
Our designers are very experienced and have been with the company for many years enabling very successful designer-engineer relationships to develop. With strength in depth we are usually able to respond quickly to meet demanding timescales and can be on your site with system for critical placement/routing if necessary.
We specialise in complex designs with high layer counts, high pin count/fine pitch BGA’s and high density interconnect (HDI)
To control the effects of increasingly faster edge rates and clock speeds, critical parameters such as proposed layer stack-up, laminate Er, trace width/space, copper thickness, delays, impedance etc are input at the beginning of the layout process using constraint management tools.
For signal simulation and analysis we use Mentor’s Hyperlynx Signal Integrity tools. We can predict and eliminate potential problems early on using pre-layout simulation and perform analysis at component placement, critical routing and design completion stages.
Hyperlynx interfaces easily to all of our CAD systems, and is used in our own design flow and as a stand-alone analysis service.
Power consumption, high current, high voltage, creepage/clearance and heat dissipation are considered up-front and parameters for cost-effective manufacture, assembly and test are built into the layout process from the start.
A number of checks are employed during layout to avoid errors and misinterpretation. Valor’s Enterprise 3000 software is used for final data verification using the original CAD files where possible. Whilst Extended Gerber is still widely used, ODB++ is the preferred output format since it is intelligent and contains all the necessary data for fabrication, assembly and test.
We are a great believer in the up-front involvement of all parties in the supply chain for best results.
